Honda Aircraft Co. breaks ground on $20M MRO facility at PTI

First Citizens to open major new Triad office

First Citizens Bank will open its new main Greensboro office in Irving Park on Oct. 1 and host a grand opening event Oct. 18, the bank has announced. First Citizens (NASDAQ: FCNCA), which is based in Raleigh, is moving administrative personnel from its downtown branch into the new 30,900-square-foot, four-story building. First Citizens plans to close its downtown branch at 100 S. Elm St. in November. Click here for more.

Self Help says it can fix Revolution Mill’s woes

It will be the biggest historic redevelopment project in its history, but the nonprofit lender and developer Self Help said it is confident it can fulfill a vision of a fully reborn community along the Yanceyville Street corridor in Greensboro. Self Help Ventures Funds, the development unit of the Durham-based organization, won the foreclosure auction for the Revolution Mill, a sprawling 630,000-square-foot former Cone Mills textile plant that has been partially redeveloped into Class A office space.

Three Triad colleges receive $11.1 million in federal funds

The U.S. Department of Education is awarding $11.08 million to three historically black colleges and universities in the Triad. In Greensboro, N.C. A&T State University and Bennett College will receive $5.25 million and $1.46 million respectively. Winston-Salem State University will get $4.38 million. PTI receives $6.1M grant for taxiway extension

Pharmaceutical company in Greensboro adding 14 jobs under expansion

GREENSBORO — Piedmont Pharmaceuticals is adding 14 jobs and investing $279,000 over the next three years as part of an expansion in Greensboro, the governor's office said today in a news release.
