City league seeks input on Jordan Lake watershed rules

A lobbying group for the state’s cities and towns is polling its members about whether they’d like the 2013 General Assembly to repeal, modify or retain intact a set of anti-pollution rules for the Jordan Lake watershed.

Company officials said the next expansion will add 18,700-square-foot to the facility at a cost of $2.5 million, creating space for 12 truck bays. Work is slated for completion in the next seven months. It will not result in new jobs, but about 45 current Volvo employees will be relocated from leased space on Gallimore Dairy Road

Volvo Group on Thursday unveiled a $10 million, 40,000-square-foot expansion to its Technical Center and also announced an additional $2.5 million, 18,700-square-foot facility expansion at Volvo’s Greensboro campus. Along with additional testing space and truck bays, the technical center expansion doubled the size of Volvo’s design studio, which supports new truck design and development. Construction on Hawthorne's luxury apartment project in Greensboro well under way

Construction on a luxury apartment development by Hawthorne Residential Partners on Bridford Parkway in Greensboro is well under way, with plans to welcome the first tenants as early as next month. KMW Builders to break ground on Greensboro rental development

KMW Builders is expected to begin construction in December on a $6.5 million, 48-unit affordable apartment community in Greensboro called the Terrace at Rocky Knoll. The site is located Rocky Knoll Road between Randleman Road and Red Chief Street. Patrick Theismann, vice president of Beacon Management, which is developing the project, confirmed that KMW Builders is the contractor and that the development's first units should be available by December 2013. Greensboro car lot proposal draws residents' ire, planners' support

A proposal to bring a car lot to the corner of Holden Road and Ashland Street near West Wendover Avenue in Greensboro has received the support of city planners, the News & Record reports.
