Salt Box to open lighting showroom

Nancy Moore may have decided to close her shop at State Street Station, but that doesn't mean that she's retiring. Moore, who opened her store in 1974, is simply shifting her focus to the lighting side of her business. The Salt Box has manufactured lighting since the 1980's. The beleaguered Greensboro Inn is out of business. The hotel on Summit Avenue closed June 1 in an agreement with the city of Greensboro. As part of the agreement, the owners cannot operate the property for residential purposes without the city’s consent. read more

New jail nears completion in downtown Greensboro

UNCG seeks a new nursing program

UNCG is among several state schools seeking a new nursing degree program that nursing professionals said will help them meet the demands of the changing health-care system. Next week, the university will ask the UNC Board of Governors for permission to plan a doctor of nursing practice program. The UNC staff has recommended the board approve the program. read more
