Three Triad colleges receive $11.1 million in federal funds

The U.S. Department of Education is awarding $11.08 million to three historically black colleges and universities in the Triad. In Greensboro, N.C. A&T State University and Bennett College will receive $5.25 million and $1.46 million respectively. Winston-Salem State University will get $4.38 million. The funding is part of $227.9 million in five-year grants awarded to nearly 100 HBCUs nationwide by the Education Department. The money will be used to strengthen the schools' academic resources,…
